The Eurail logo tattooed on his back, in return for free Eurail Passes. With this bold idea a dedicated Eurail fan hopes to be able to give his old parents the trip of their lifetime in Europe!
“My name is Grant Burton and I’m from Australia and I have my parents’ 40th wedding anniversary coming up soon.” This is Burton’s introduction to Eurail.Com of his long treasured dream: allowing his parents to travel through Europe one last time. To realize this dream, Burton, self-appointed Eurail’s biggest fan, is willing to represent the Eurail experience for the rest of his life.
Existing well over 50 years, the Eurail train Passes that allow almost unlimited rail travel in Europe have many loyal customers. But never has Eurail.Com experienced such a fan dedication as with the 30-year old Australian.
Celebrating his parents’ anniversary, Burton is looking to offer them a special gift. His father’s biggest wish is to see Germany again. “My Dad is nearly 80 and won’t get much of a chance to see his old friends”, he writes. Burton, who already travelled with Eurail last year, thinks that Eurail Passes would be perfect for this present. Grant, currently unemployed, does not have the resources to pay for the Eurail Passes. That is when he got the idea to tattoo the Eurail logo and the URL www.eurail.com on his back, in return for free Eurail Passes for his parents.
“We feel that Grant’s initiative to immortalize our brand is the summit of Eurail enthusiasm,” Chantal Sukel, Campaign Manager of Eurail.Com BV comments. “Allowing more enthusiastic fans to live their dream, we will launch a campaign around Grant’s idea. From February 15, everybody can post us their story or idea for “Biggest fans travel for free” on our website and Eurail Facebook Fan Page. The most passionate and creative customers will earn a free Eurail Pass.”
Burton will travel to Europe with his parents autumn 2010 to show his tattoo in the Dutch Eurail.Com office. Eurail.Com offers him a sponsorship of his trip if 5000 people support Grant Burton on Facebook. Visit Burton’s Facebook Group to follow his inspiring story!
